SPRING WALK – SUNDAY 6th APRIL.
Meet 9.45am for 10am start.

Anna and Jim Thompson have once again kindly offered to lead our Spring Walk.

This year they have planned and tested a route starting from The Trout at Itchen Abbas.

It is about the same length as last year (3.5 miles with shorter options). In planning the route Jim and Anna have tried to avoid anything too low lying as water levels are likely to still be high by then. Even so suitable footwear would be advisable. It is based partly on the disused railway line as there are now some plans to restore this as an informal route into Winchester and the track is open and dry in Itchen Abbas. They will be adding a touch of French flavour to the event!

Before the walk, cars can be parked in The Trout’s overflow car park. After the walk you may want a drink or stay for lunch. The Trout have a reasonably priced menu with 2-3 roasts also available on Sundays. Jim has made a provisional booking for a small party (from 12:30pm) but will need to let the Trout have approximate numbers in advance.

If you intent to come and would like to eat or just have a drink in the pub after the walk, please let me (Jean Hudson) know so we can let the pub know approximate numbers. If you just want to go on the walk, could you please let me know anyway so we know how many to expect.

Replies by 3rd April please.

Hope to see you on the 6th April.
